Rihaee is a social drama. The movie is set in a remote village in Gujarat. It is common for the menfolk in the village to go to the city to earn, leaving behind their wives and children, and often get involved with prostitutes. One day, a man named Mansukh (Naseeruddin Shah), who had been working in Dubai, returns to his village, and after seeing a man in the village after so long, the women of the village get excited, especially a woman named Sukhi (Neena Gupta). However, Mansukh is attracted to Taku (Hema Malini), wife of Amarji (Vinod Khanna), and keeps pursuing her. Sometime later, Mansukh leaves the village, and it is then Taku and Sukhi find out that they are pregnant. The question remains, how will the two deal with their pregnancy? Will the women of the village finally speak up against all the mistreatment they have been facing?
