Nazima was a supporting actress who primarily acted in Hindi films from the 50s to 70s. Born as Mehr-un-Nissa on 25 March 1948 in Nashik, Nazima marked her acting debut as Baby Chand in Bimal Roy’s ‘Do Bigha Zamin’ in 1953 and went to play child artist roles in films including ‘Biraj Bahu’, ‘Devdas’, ‘Garam Coat’ and ‘Ab Dilli Dur Nahin’, etc. She later went on to play supporting actress roles in the 1960s and early 1970s which earned her the title "Resident Sister" of Bollywood. Some of her memorable films include ‘Arzoo’, ‘Aaye Din Bahar Ke’, ‘Raja Aur Rank’, ‘Anjaana’, ‘Be-Imaan’, ‘Adhikar’, ‘Manchali’ and ‘Amir Garib’. She passed away on 11 August 2025.
