Bharat Kapoor was an actor and director who primarily worked in Hindi films and television, particularly through the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. He made his acting debut in 1971 with a small role in ‘Badnam Farishte’ and later went on to do over 200 films in his four-decade long career. He was often cast in authoritative characters such as police officers, lawyers, businessmen, and antagonists, bringing a distinct screen presence to each role. Over the years, he appeared in several notable films that remain popular with audiences. His filmography includes 'Noorie', 'Ram Balram', 'Love Story', 'Bazaar', 'Ghulami', 'Aakhree Raasta', 'Satyamev Jayate', 'Swarg', 'Khuda Gawah' and 'Rang'. He also directed a couple of films, namely – 'Raiszaada' in 1991 and 'Barsaat Ki Raat' 1998. He passed away on 27 April 2026 at the age of 80.
